Helsinki Cup 2009
Helsinki Cup (Hesa-Cup for short) is an international soccer tournament for young soccer players. It is the largest such a tournament in Finland: this year almost 700 teams from 20 countries participate in the event. Read more at Hesa Cup info sheet or check FC Espoo's game statistics at Helsinki Cup D13 results page.
I took 4,373 photos during the five days and nine games that FC Espoo played and some 15 % of them made it to these pages. If you shoot a lot, you can't miss all the time, within the soccer field or outside it ;-)

- The game started with Espoo clearly dominating the game.
- Near the half time, Espoo defense did a mishap and practically gave away the ball to HIFK offense, they scored.
- On the second half, HIFK goalie tripped an Espoo player just when he was getting passed him. He got a red card and was off the field.
- After this, Espoo triumphed and scored 4 goals.

- This was not an even game. Espoo made the first goal within the first minute of the game.
- FC Espoo vs. PK-35, July 9, 2008. Espoo lost 0 - 1.
- Game was very fast paced.
- Espoo dominated the first half.
- PK-35 scored in the beginning of the second period -- the ball bounced from the goal post to goalies back and then to the goal. Lucky shot; but the preceding offense was a good one, have to admit.
- Espoo tried to balance the score but did not make it.
- Espoo played better soccer: better passes, smarter game, but PK-35 was faster and stronger.
- FC Espoo vs. FC Slavia (Belo Russia), July 11, 2008
- FC Slavia played well and intensively, but they did not match FC Espoo's speed and team play
